Byte Size Cruises here and welcome back to the blog! If this is your first time here, we are glad to have you join us. We are a travel agency out of Philadelphia, PA and we specialize in cruise vacations. If you enjoy cruising or if you are looking to learn more about cruises you're in the right place! Our goal here is to give you the best and most up to date information so you can plan and go on an amazing vacation (and hopefully fall in love with cruising like we did!)
Recently our team was on board the Enchanted Princess and here is our review of all of the food included in your cruise fare. If you want to check out this post on our YouTube channel, click here. Let's get started!
The Main Dining Room
We didn't do a ton of eating in the main dining room because the reservation timing didn't work out for us. We found that it was very booked and we recommend that if you want to take advantage of the main dining room on this ship that you book your reservations early. The only meal we did have in the main dining room was breakfast and it was absolutely fine. No complaints here!
The Buffet
The food at the buffet was delicious and they had a wide variety of foods available. One thing that was unique and we enjoyed was that they have an entire cheese section at this buffet where they offer a wide variety of cheeses for you to enjoy. The buffet on the Enchanted Princess is open ALL day (literally from 5am to about 1am) so there is food available regularly and the food at this buffet felt extremely fresh. The food was being changed out regularly and nothing we ate felt stale or like it had been sitting out too long.
This buffet had everything broken out into different sections, with special sections for vegetarian and vegan options. The traffic moved well and we didn't find that it was particularly congested at any point, which often does happen on cruise ships.
The International Cafe
This is a grab-and-go cafe that has the same menu pretty much every day. They offer sandwiches, soups, salads, warmed cookies and also serve breakfast. The food here is fine. It does feel like a cafeteria as the food is premade and put out for you to select, so it's not made fresh for you. This restaurant is also always open so it is an easy option if you want to grab some food between shows or while heading to the pool.
Even though there was often a line at the International Cafe, it moved quickly and the service was fast. Finding a seat in this space was challenging because it was smaller, so if you eat here you might have to be a bit creative with where you sit. Overall, this is a great option if you're looking for something fast and filling.
The Salty Dog Grill
This restaurant is up on the pool deck and another great grab and go option if you're looking for a quick lunch to eat while enjoying the pool. Here you can get hot dogs, fries, and other fast food items to eat poolside.
Alfredo's Pizza
There are two pizza places on board the Enchanted Princess; one is a specialty dining restaurant and the other is Alfredo's which is on the pool deck and included in your cruise fare. We really enjoyed the pizza here (in fact, next to MSC, this is one of our favorite pizza options on board a cruise ship.) There isn't a ton of variety, they have the same three flavors pretty much every day. Regardless, we enjoyed the food and there wasn't a wait time at this restaurant; anytime we wanted a slice, we could just walk up and grab I, which was great.
Room Service
You can get room service delivered anywhere on the ship and the beautiful thing about the medallions they use on Princess is that they can track you. When you order room service they know what general area you are in and they will bring it to you. Here's the thing with room service, the food IS being carried through the ship to you, so it doesn't always arrive the warmest. However, we ordered room service twice while on board and both times the food was good.
Soft Service Ice Cream
Outside of the buffet you will find Swirls, which is where they have the soft serve ice cream! While this is not the best soft serve you'll ever have, it was good and a nice sweet treat to end the night.
That is our review of the included food on the Enchanted Princess! Have you sailed on this ship? What was your favorite restaurant to eat at? We would love to hear from you!
