Entertainment Review - Symphony of The Seas

Welcome back to Byte Size Cruises! If this is your first time joining us, we are glad you are here! We are a travel agency out of Philadelphia, PA and we specialize in all things cruising. If you enjoy cruising, or if you're interested in learning more about cruise vacations, you're in the right place! Our goal here is to give you the best and most up to date information so you can plan and go on an amazing cruise vacation. (Hopefully, you will fall in love with cruising like we did!)

Recently our team was on Symphony of the Seas. In this post, we will review all of the entertainment options on this ship. If you want to check out this post on our YouTube channel, click here

To review the entertainment we are going to cover a few things including: the Cruise Director and their staff, live games and game shows around the ship, the comedians and musicians around the ship, and, last but not least, the big production shows.

The Cruise Director and Staff:

This Cruise Director did a wonderful job. We sometimes feel like on these larger ships you loose track of the Cruise Director and their staff (vs. a small ship where you see them around constantly.) On this cruise, we felt like the Cruise Director did a wonderful job with their staff of making their presence known around the ship. There's a lot going on all around the ship and on a big ship like this there's a lot of things happening simultaneously. The Cruise Director hosts things like Trivia, Crazy Quest, Scavenger Hunts, Theme Parties, etc. and we felt like they did a great job especially considering the size of the ship.

Musicians:

There is live music all over the ship and they play at various theme parties, restaurants, etc. The singer in the British Pub was great as well as the music at the parties. The Schooner Bar player was great (he plays sing-along piano music) and so was the band on the pool deck. Overall, the live music on this ship did not disappoint. There was a lot of variety and you could find live music pretty much anytime throughout the day or night. One thing that made the music on this ship extra special was the roaming piano player. You'll find him all over - even in the elevator - and the element of surprise with him made it a ton of fun to listen to his music.

Entertainment Amenities:

There are two arcades on this ship, one by Playmakers and one up on the pool deck. These are both a bit small but fun, especially if you enjoy arcades.

Game Shows:

Our team didn't go to many game shows on this ship simply because there was SO much going on. However, the ones that we did go to were amazing. We had a ton of fun at the Crazy Quest and heard great things about the other shows as well.

 Production Shows:

Wow, were we impressed with the production shows on this ship. First up, we saw Hairspray. This was a Broadway style show with lots of singing and dancing and everything that makes this type of entertainment amazing.

The Aqua Theater show was Hiro and the things they do on a moving cruise ship is truly incredible. This type of Aqua Theater show is something you won't see on any other ship class in the world. Note, if you sit up front, you are in the splash zone and you definitely will get wet.

Ice Shows:

There are two Ice Shows on board Symphony of the Seas. Both of them are amazing with both the performers, the technology, the music, etc. Definitely make the time to go see them when you sail on this ship!

Flight: Dare to Dream

This is the last production show, and is equally amazing. This show is a unique blend of technology, performance, acrobatics, and more. The cast for this show is the same as Hairspray, and this show is all about aeronautics with some fun surprises along the way.

All in all, you will not be bored on this ship. Every single day and night there are tons of things going on and we highly recommend you check out all the different types of entertainment available on this ship. You will never run out of things to do!
