Our goal is simply to share the most accurate information on cruising out there so you can plan an amazing getaway. The Byte Size team was just on the Carnival Jubilee and we had a blast. It's a brand new cruise ship and offers tons of fun and activities for all ages. In this post we will break down the top 10 must do experiences on this ship. Most of these things are included on your cruise fare but some of them cost a bit extra. Let's get into it!
1. Go on the Bolt Rollercoaster. Yes, it's a rollercoaster, on a cruise ship. Need we say more? It costs $15 per turn and each turn you get three laps around the track. One of the downsides of this type of attraction is that they largely depend on weather. If the weather is bad, it will not be available for obvious safety reasons. When we were on the Jubilee it was only running two days of our cruise. That's all to say, if this is something you're interested in doing, don't wait. If it's sunny and a nice on your first cruise day, take advantage and do the rollercoaster!
2. Go see Dear Future Husband. This is a brand new musical put together by Carnival for the Jubilee and it is amazing. It's a really fun show and current, which a lot of musicals are not. It has tons of new music and is on trend with today. The story itself is about a couple that gets on the cruise ship a day before their wedding and how the wedding itself unfolds.
3. Dr. Inks and the Alchemy Bar. This is a really fun and unique way to try some new beverages. Dr. Inks is on deck 6 and the Alchemy Bar is right above it. The Alchemy Bar is going to be more of your cool, hip cocktails that focus on a particular ingredient or style. Dr. Inks involves brings in some fun effects like using a laser to put "Carnival Jubilee" on top of your drink or smoke bubbles on top of your beverage to create a multi sensory drink experience. If you have a drink package, this is included. Otherwise you do have to pay extra for each beverage.
4. Lunch at Guy's Burger Joint. Yes, the line is long, but it's 100% worth the wait. You can get all sorts of different burgers, onion rings, and fries with multiple topping and sauce options. It's a great meal and it is included in your cruise fare.
5. Go to the Sail Away party! This is a ton of fun and you can participate as much as you want to. You can be down by the pool involved in all the action, or watch from one of the decks above. The music is great, the cruise director, Kindle Fire, is amazing, and it's a great way to start off your cruise. Definitely check it out.
6. Spend an afternoon or evening on the Serenity Deck. At the very top front of the ship is the serenity area and this space is SO under utilized. It's got wonderful lounge chairs, the clamshell seats, there's a pool back there, and a cafe that serves light food for lunch and snacks. It's a wonderful space to find some peace and relaxation.
7. Go to Family Feud Live! This is exactly what you think it is; hilarious families playing family feud. They give wild and crazy answers to the questions and the Cruise Director does a really wonderful job of running the show. This is a ton of fun and it is included in your cruise fare. They do this show three times throughout the duration of a cruise so you'll have a few opportunities to see it. We definitely recommend getting there early to secure your seat because it does fill up fast.
8. Take a photo in the big Texas chair. This is located on deck 7 right outside of the casino and it's a great photo opportunity spot for you and your friends or family traveling with you.
9. Comedy Shows! Definitely check out one of the comedy shows while you are on the Jubilee. Now, usually comedy shows are not our favorite on cruise ships, however these shows were genuinely funny and our team had a blast. There's about 6 different comedians that perform at the two different comedy clubs on board and the shows are all included in your cruise fare. Again, we recommend you get there a bit early to save seats because the shows tend to fill up fast.
10. Last but not least... Go to Big Chicken! There is no additional cost and it is delicious food. Big Chicken is a great spot for lunch or dinner and it is ALL about the sauce. Whether you're getting a chicken sandwich or tenders, you'll have your choice of a bunch of different options of sauce at the sauce bar to choose from.
